Women Dominate Season Opener – Trifecta Of White-Fann-Deckman Rules High Banks During Season O

The Super Truck feature 25 lap event saw Randy Price jump to the lead at the green and run away from most of the field. Joey Frey and Jeremiah Gibson would have none of it and made it a three-way breakaway for much of the race with a second pack battling amongst themselves. Price would not be seriously challenged and would take the checkered followed by Frey and Gibson in second and third spots. Enduro graduates Josh Canaday and Brian Bamesberger were fourth and fifth. Price and Frey also swept heat races.

The 15-lap Dash event saw another of I-70 s famous women racers take the lead at the start and hold off a hard charging David Russell for 15 laps to become the second female winner in as many features tonight. Ladies are always tough at the high banks. Fann also won her heat event sweeping the evening. Russell was runner-up with Jason Garrison third spot and Jason Isabell fourth and Gary McGinnis fifth spot. Dave Hecker, Michael Deschenes and Steven Littrell started the season in the hole as they were unable to make the feature event.

Super Stock action saw 2006 champion Chris Reiff and 2006 Runner-up Mike Higley battle for the top 2 spots with Mark Spillman in tow. On lap 3 – Higley s truck went up in smoke and his evening was done. Reiff took the restart and the front spot over Spillman and held off Spillman for the victory. Charley Gravelle made an impressive third place showing with Paul Carter fourth and Brandon Davis rounded out the top five.

Higley and Reiff won heat events.

Enduro feature racing which always thrills the fans with side-by-side racing excitement provided yet another thrilling finish as Jacobee Deckman followed in her family footsteps winning both her heat and the feature event. Dave Walker took the initial lead at the green flag and ran just a little too strong as he violated the 23-second rule on multiple laps. The 23-second rule is used to keep the class competitive and keep cars running above that time. Walker was DQ d following the feature event making Deckman the winner of the race. Walker also won his heat event. Jeremy Roberts ran a solid second spot, Mike Payne was third, Todd Herdman was fourth and Tim Barker rounded out the top five spots. Deckman follows father Billy and sister Blythe as feature winners at I-70 Speedway.
