The OMV Kronos Citroen World Rally Team will try a new attack on a top-8-place at the “Rally d’Italia Sardegna”. For only then the the commitment in the FIA World Rally Championship is justified. But scoring points is getting more and more difficult this season for Manfred Stohl/Ilka Minor (Austria) and their Swedish-French teammates Daniel Carlsson/Denis Giraudet. The difference between works and private cars is too big.
Statistics speak a plain language
Manfred Stohl has accepted the status quo following eighth place in Argentina. Stohl: “If both drivers of the works teams reach the finish seventh place is the limit. “ And the OMV driver has the statistics to prove it. While last year privateers had finished 14 times among the top-6 and reached three podium places after six runs they only have eight top-6-places and one podium place to their account in 2007. Stohl: “That clearly show the status quo. But we are nevertheless still motivated. We are working very hard to increase our performance. Which means that we obviously want to reach the top-8 in Sardinia, as well. “
