Vauxhall is flexing its creative muscles with the next Zafira – and here’s the proof! Sister company Opel unveiled this stunning concept car at the Frankfurt Motor Show. And, according to the maker, it gives strong hints as to how the next generation of the big-selling MPV will look.
Called the Flextreme, the show vehicle has a clever electric powerplant and innovative barn-style doors which open out 90 degrees.
However, unlike rival systems in the Mazda RX-8 and MINI Clubman, the rear ‘FlexDoors’ can be operated independently from those at the front. As the practical set-up received an excellent response in customer clinics, the design has been patented, so it’s likely to be used on future production models.
