Mark Wins Pole For Jetta TDI Cup Race At Road Atlanta


BRASELTON, Ga. – Mark Pombo, Duluth, Ga. will start on the pole position for the final Jetta TDI Cup race scheduled to take place at Road Atlanta. Pombo, is currently ranked third in the season overall, after winning the first race of the season at VIRginia International Raceway in April and having consistently placed in the top of the field.

“It’s great to get pole in the last minute of the qualifying on my home track,” said Pombo.  “It’s going to be a tough race tomorrow but hopefully I can pull out the big win on my home town track.  I have to thank Gossett Volkswagen and ful® for helping me be here, otherwise I wouldn’t have made it.”

Tomorrow’s race in the most important of the season with a championship still on the line with winnings that include $100,000 for the overall points leader as well as a trip to Germany as a guest driver in the ADAC Polo Cup
