1. Domestic Production

(1) September 2007

The domestic production volume for September 2007 exceeded the figure for the same month last year, up 5.8% compared to September 2006. This increase was mainly due to healthy sales of the Mazda2 (Demio in Japan) and Mazda3 (Axela).

Mazda3 (Axela): 36,879 units (up 8.5% year-on-year)

(2) April through September 2007

The domestic production volume for the period April through September exceeded the figure for the same period in 2006, up 0.2% year-on-year, mainly due to increased production of the Mazda3 (Axela), with its steady global sales, as well as the all-new Mazda2 (Demio).

Mazda3 (Axela): 208,902 units (up 15.3% year-on-year)

Mazda2 (Demio): 54,601 units (up 52.0% year-on-year)

2. Overseas Production

(1) September 2007

The overseas production volume was below the figure for the same month last year, down 4.3% on September 2006, mainly due to the end of production of the second generation Mazda2 at the Valencia plant in Spain and the end of Familia and Premacy production in China since FAW Haima established its own original brand.

Mazda6 : 10,143 units (up 29.8% year-on-year)

Mazda3 : 4,508 units (up 1545.3% year-on-year)

(2) April through September 2007

Overseas production in the period April through September 2007 was below the figure for the same period last year, down 24.0%, mainly due to the end of production of the second generation Mazda2 at the Valencia plant in Spain and the end of Familia and Premacy production in China since FAW established its own original brand.

Mazda3 : 22,766 units (up 372.1% year-on-year)

Mazda6 : 43,479 units (down 17.4% year-on-year)

(1) September 2007

Domestic sales of the Mazda2 (Demio in Japan) and Mazda5 (Premacy) were healthy due to the new model effect. However, September 2007 domestic sales were 3.9% lower than last year’s result due to a decrease in sales of registered commercial vehicles and the Mazda6 (Atenza). Mazda’s registered vehicle market share was 6.4%, up 0.3 points over the same period last year, with a 3.2% share of the micro-mini segment (up 0.3 points) and a 5.3% total market share (up 0.3 points over September 2006).
