There are fire-breathing Porsche Cayennes with turbocharged V8s, there are quite adequate V8 Cayennes and price-tempting V6 Cayennes and now comes the greener Porsche Cayenne.
For Porsche’s Cayenne Hybrid wagon is now promised before the end of the decade. And, unlike some other hybrid SUVs, this one apparently will be allowed to go off-road.
(If that is the wish of a Cayenne operator, these things have a fair amount of off-road confidence, if sometimes limited only by the choice of rubber.)
The German hybrid machine’s 3.6 litre V6 engine will run in parallel with a 34kW electric motor, sitting between the petrol engine and the six-speed Tiptronic transmission.
