Ferrari’s new lighter, more powerful F430 is to be named Scuderia. A reference to the Formula One technology used to achieve the F430 Scuderia’s impressive performance, the car is also the beginning of Ferrari’s move towards building lighter, greener cars.
The car has shaved 100kg off the standard 430’s 1350kg by using lightweight materials, while power from the 4.3-litre V8 is up by 27bhp to 510bhp.
This gives the Scuderia a power to weight ratio of 378bhp per tonne.
Michael Schumacher will officially unveil the F430 Scuderia at the Frankfurt show in September this year.
