Suzuki X-HEAD Concept Suzuki

The second layer in Suzuki’s Tokyo awesomeness involves a small SUV concept for those who commute with a large quantity of sporting equipment. It’s the Suzuki X-Head concept, a smallish truck prototype that looks like the product of misguided congress between a big rig and a Suzuki Mighty Boy. We’ll take one in every color except metallic beige.

Just what exactly is a “cross utility vehicle”? In the case of the Suzuki X-Head, it’s a chunky concept with a hip design and a Tonka Toy flavor that can be converted to one of several configurations.

The most intriguing feature of the X-Head is its configurability. Suzuki accomplishes this through different load-bed units. The Camper unit, for instance, has sleeping space for two adults and would be aimed at the outdoorsy set. The Fashion unit is designed for “stylish urban mobility, “ which suggests a Scion-like positioning in the youth market. The Rescue unit can be employed in extreme environments for emergency rescue operations, which makes it appropriate for such diverse organizations as the U. S. Forest Service and the NYPD.

Mechanical highlights include a midmounted 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine and a six-speed twin-clutch automatic gearbox, along with full-time four-wheel drive.

Suzuki describes the X-Head as “the epitome of functional dependability and fun. “ Although it’s merely a concept, we’d love to see this one in production.
