Team VIP Petfoods will officially unveil the new Porsche 991 GT3 RSR (Type 997) – Australia’s most unique international marketing tool and the newest weapon in their international arsenal, for the very first time this Thursday at Queensland Raceway.
Media are invited to attend the event from 12 noon to 1.30pm at the Ipswich circuit, with opportunities available for track vision and photographs, as well as static shots and interviews with the team.
Drivers onsite will include Team VIP Petfoods’ owner Tony Quinn, Klark Quinn, Craig Baird and Craig Baird, who will pilot the RSR in the team’s second Nürburgring 24 hour attempt, following on from their ninth on debut in 2006 aboard the Porsche 996 turbo.
“To get the job done, and to be the best, you need to have the right tools, ” said Tony Quinn.
“And you don’t just need to have the right tools, they need to be sharp, the best there is, and this is what we have in the RSR – the best tool possible for our goal of winning international races, and putting the VIP Petfoods brand at the front of the pack. ”
Built especially for long-distance racing, the RSR arrived in Melbourne on May 14, before undergoing the Team VIP Petfoods’ makeover in Peter Fitzgerald’s Melbourne workshop.
Following its track debut next week, the car will begin its journey to Germany on May 28th to arrive ahead of the Nürburgring 24 hour event, to be held over June 7 to 10.
