The Essence of Porsche

Porsche is about sports cars. Always has been. Always will be. But with the introduction of the Cayenne in 2003, some of the focus has shifted to SUVs. Just in case journalists were thinking Porsche was concentrating on people movers (we didn’t), Porsche invited the Pioneer Press and several other journalist to Birmingham, Alabama’s Barber Motorsports Park for track time in some of the world’s best sports cars.

Barber Motorsports Park is home to the world’s largest motorcycle collection and a 2.38-mile, 16-turn racetrack. It is also the North American headquarters of the Porsche Sport Driving School. Porsche paired several of its driving school instructors and race drivers with journalists to give us insight into the performance personality of five of its world-class sports cars.
