What really makes a luxury car a luxury car is hard to pin down. After all, many amenities found on luxury vehicles can also be found in midrange cars. And odder still, many brands long associated with posh performance, including Porsche and Lamborghini, actually lack amenities that are commonly found on lower-priced nonluxury brands.
If amenities aren’t the most reliable indicators, it’s tempting to consider a hefty price tag as an easy definition, but that’s more than a little misleading. Alix Moise, a Senior Sales Representative with Wally McCarthy, and an expert on Cadillacs and Hummers, says this is especially true of the makes and models he sells.
“The American car industry has changed considerably; they are at the avant-garde of technology with the quality, the fit and finish of the vehicle,” Moise notes. “And you get a lot for your money…looking at the vehicles we have here, price-wise, they compare to any other Toyota or Volkswagen you have out there.”
