WC Vision and SCCA Pro Racing have announced the addition of a Team Championship to the 2010 World Challenge Championships. The award will acknowledge teams that run either a single driver signed to a car for the entire season, or multiple drivers assigned to a single car throughout the season. The Team Championship would effectively allow a car to accumulate points, rather than the driver.
“Race teams put in an incredible amount of time prepping cars throughout the year and it’s important that we highlight their extraordinary efforts,” WC Vision VP of Marketing and Communications Dave Drimmie said. “Plus, it’s tough to see a team who put in a great effort walk away empty handed at the end of the season just because they used a handful of drivers instead of one. The Team Championship will allow us to reward those teams who showed great form and consistency over the season.”
