“The nominations for Beyond the Wheel are a tribute to the talented people at NASCAR Images who bring the sight, sound and emotion of NASCAR to race fans everywhere, ” said Jay Abraham, president of NASCAR Images. ”We are honored that the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences recognized the quality of the work by NASCAR Images, particularly alongside respected live events such as the Winter Olympics and the Tour de France. ”
The 28th Annual Sports Emmy Awards will be presented on Monday, April 30, in New York.
This season, Beyond the Wheel has evolved into Survival of the Fastest, a weekly NASCAR program airing on SPEED, which combines both Beyond the Wheel and 7 Days. Survival of the Fastest goes beyond the race and behind closed doors with NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series teams as they plan and prepare for competition. Deep on- and off-track access to teams and “fly on the wall” cinematography gives viewers a complete depiction of what it takes to compete in racing’s top series. Survival of the Fastest can be seen during SPEED’s pre-race programming block on Sunday mornings and airs multiple times throughout each weekend of the 2007 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup season.
