Alain Bergeron and his team are going back on the road this weekend for two races in two evenings in the Niagara ON region. Friday evening, Bergeron and the drivers of the ESS series will be at Ohsweken ON for the Genese Scramble qualifier. Saturday evening, all will meet again at Thorold ON, at Merrittville Speedway. Note that during the racing program at the intermission, the Saint-Pie QC driver will participate in a bicycle race against the Merrittville track champion. This race is part of the Kid’s club activities of the track and a young fan will receive a bicycle. The bicycle will carry the colors of the 8B Sprint of Bergeron.
Cornwall – June 17, 2007… After the misadventure of the day before at Drummondville, Alain Bergeron came back with a solid performance with a fourth place finish in the A-Main race at Cornwall ON, Sunday June 17. Ninth on the starting grid, the Saint-Pie QC driver gained positions to cross the finish line in fourth place.
The evening had well begun with a win in his heat while he started second and a win in the DASH race.
In 2007, Alain Bergeron is in his 8th season with the very competitive series, the Empire Super Sprints ( ESS).
In 2006, the Saint-Pie native was crowned the 2006 ESS tour champion after a very good 2005 year as he finished in fifth place in the point standing and he had been champion of the ‘Gater Racing News Lap Leader Award’
Bergeron was the first Canadian to win a Sprint Car race with
the ESS in 2000. Sprint Cars are one of the most popular type of racing in the United Sates and at the end of the 2001 season, in his second year driving a Sprint Car, he had the most wins of any driver in the series with 3.
Racing with the ESS since only 6 years, Alain Bergeron is already in 18th position in the all-time winners list of the series. Throughout this season, we will inform you of his results and
various news from Team Bergeron, while Alain will be on the road competing to the best of his abilities. Alain Bergeron’s hometown is Saint-Pie-de-Bagot and he is a former champion in Mini-Sprint and ATV, both on dirt and ice surfaces.
