The American Sprint Car Series Gulf South Region fires back into action with a pair of events in south
Texas on Friday and Saturday night this weekend. On Friday night, the series takes to the high-banked, ¼-mile Motorama Speedway gumbo clay oval in Beaumont, TX. Then on Saturday night, it’s on to the
¼-mile, semi-banked Houston Raceway Park dirt oval in Baytown. The ASCS Gulf South Region officially kicked off the 2007 season at Motorama
Speedway on April 6, with Jason Johnson besting a field of 33 entries. Two other scheduled events, including one at Houston Raceway Park, have been washed out.
