Teams taking part in the inaugural American Sprint Car Series Northern Plains Speedweek will have an opportunity to kick back and relax for an evening and meet with fans during next Monday night’s O’Reilly ASCoT Tailgate Party.
The series kicks off the four-race Northern Plains Speedweek set on Saturday night at Crawford County Speedway in Denison, IA. Round Two follows three nights later on Tuesday, when the series takes to I-90 Speedway in Hartford, SD.
But before the Tuesday outing at I-90 Speedway, the Travel Lodge in nearby Sioux Falls, SD, will host the O’Reilly ASCoT Tailgate Cook-Out Party.
All teams are urged to have their cars on display in the north parking lot of the Travel Lodge, formerly the Oaks Hotel, by 4:00 p. m. on Monday.
A cookout, including grilled ribs, brats and burgers along with a cash bar begins at 5:30 p. m., with a live radio remote beginning at 6:00 p. m. with KELO Sports and the Argus Leader. Then at 7:00 p. m., the live band “Pop Machine” will entertain racers, teams and fans.
All activities are in the north parking lot of the Travel Lodge.
The Travel Lodge is the official ASCoT hotel for this event, with a special I-90 Speedway rate of $57 available by calling 1-800-326-4656 or 605-336-9000. The hotel, which has an indoor/outdoor pool and spa, is located at the intersection of I-29 and Russell Street (Exit 81) in Sioux Falls, SD.
Tuesday’s racing action at I-90 Speedway, which is located three miles west of Hartford, SD, on SR 38, fires off at 8:00 p. m. From there, the series moves on to North Central Speedway in Brainerd, MN, on Wednesday night (June 20) before wrapping up the Northern Plains Speedweek at Dakota State Fair Speedway in Huron, SD, on Saturday night, June 23.
The O’Reilly American Sprint Cars on Tour National series is currently slated for 44 nights of racing action at 23 different tracks throughout 15 different states, with more than $1,000,000 in purse money and point fund to be distributed during the 2007 season.
The 2007 season marks the 16th year of sanctioning Sprint Car racing for the American Sprint Car Series. With 13 different Regions in addition to the O’Reilly American Sprint Cars on Tour National series, ASCS will sanction approximately 240 nights of racing at more than 100 different race tracks throughout at least 30 different states and Canada.
