After rain foiled the American Sprint Car Series Mid-Atlantic Region’s first attempted event this past weekend, Susquehanna Speedway Park in Newberrytown, PA, is set to try the inaugural series event once again this Sunday evening.
The $1,500-to-win event replaces the $1,200-to-win Local event originally scheduled at Susquehanna Speedway Park this Sunday.
Sunday night’s card marks the first of a half-dozen ASCS Mid-Atlantic Region events atop the semi-banked, 4/10-mile clay oval in Central Pennsylvania. The track will also host several “local” ASCS Mid-Atlantic events over the course of the 2007 season.
A stout field of cars is expected as the inaugural ASCS Mid-Atlantic Region championship points races gets under way, with several of those expected to include Lucas Wolfe, Tim Hogue, Cody Darrah, Chad Layton, Dave Ely, Danny Carrozza and Coleman Gulick.
The event will also serve as an appetizer for the upcoming O’Reilly American Sprint Cars on Tour National series event, which will bring the likes of Gary Wright, Jason Johnson, Wayne Johnson, Travis Rilat, Darren Stewart, Garry Lee Maier and more to Susquehanna Speedway Park on May 24.
