The American Sprint Car Series Southern Tour and the American Sprint Car Series Rebel Region will square off with a pair of events in Georgia this weekend.
On Friday night, the two Regions battle it out at Oglethorpe Speedway Park in Savannah, GA. Then on Saturday night, the showdown moves on to Swainsboro Raceway in Swainsboro, GA.
Brian Smith holds a slim eight-point lead over Johnny Bridges in the ASCS Southern Tour points race entering the weekend, with the Florida trio of Kenny Adams, T.J. Winegardner and Bryn Gohn rounding out the current top five.
Ranked fourth in Southern Tour points, Winegardner of Pierson, FL, is the current leader in the inaugural season of action for the ASCS Rebel Region with an 18 piont lead over Brian Thomas. Also in the top five are Shane Morgan, Tyler Godwin and Doug Day.
Friday’s card at Oglethorpe Speedway Park fires off at 7:30 p. m., while Saturday’s card at Swainsboro Raceway goes green at 7:00 p. m.

The ASCS Southern Tour is slated for 18 nights of action in 2007 at a dozen different tracks throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Georgia.
The ASCS Rebel Region sanctions Sprint Car racing throughout Georgia, Alabama and North Florida, with a dozen events at nine different tracks currently on the slate.
The 2007 season marks the 16th year of sanctioning Sprint Car racing for the American Sprint Car Series. With a dozen different Regions in addition to the O’Reilly American Sprint Cars on Tour National series, ASCS will sanction approximately 240 nights of racing at more than 100 different race tracks throughout at least 30 different states and Canada.
