Tony Bruce, Jr. is coming into the Knoxville Nationals fresh off his first World of Outlaws (WoO) victory. Tony held off “The King,” Steve Kinser, to take home the trophy at the Outlaws’ inaugural visit to 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa last week.

Bruce, from Liberal, Kansas, is driving the #18 sponsored by Best Wells Service and looking to carry his momentum into the Nationals. In 2006, Bruce was named Knoxville Nationals Rookie of the Year, finishing 22nd.

“I am always excited about coming to Knoxville,” Bruce said. “I was totally stoked to get my first Outlaw win just before Knoxville. This gives our young team the lift we needed. We recently made some changes that have made us even more competitive and I can’t wait to see how that works for us in Knoxville.”

In his second year of full time competition with the Outlaws, Bruce has two other WoO top-10 finishes. He has also been to victory lane twice in the American Sprint Car Series National Tour.

The hard work paid off, as Tony found himself fourth in points at season’s end, with his third Rookie of The Year title, and the honorary Sportsmanship Award. Bruce is in his second year of competition with the World of Outlaws and most recently picked up his first victory on July 30, 2008 at 34 Raceway in Iowa.
