Tommy Bryant struck a blow for the American Sprint Car Series Gulf South Region by racing to victory lane in Friday night’s 25-lap ASCS Gulf South vs. Lone Star Challenge event at Heart O’ Texas Speedway.

Bryant raced past Lone Star shoe Marvin Lough for the lead on the 19th round en route to his third Gulf South score of the season aboard David Miller’s 105 Machine-powered B&M Jr. No. 21T J&J.

Bryant took the checkered flag in front of Lone Star rep J.P. Bailey, while Lough nursed his mount home in the show position with a deflating right rear tire after leading from the ninth round when early pacesetter Justin Melton crashed out of contention.

Ray Allen Kulhanek crossed the stripe behind the lead trio, with Eric Baldaccini picking up Hard Charger honors by racing from 17th to round out the top five.  Greg Rilat was sixth, with Claud Estes, Gary Watson, New Mexico teen Joshua Hodges and two-time Sooner champ Brian McClelland completing the top ten.

Lough, Bailey, McClelland, Melton, Watson and Kulhanek topped heat race action for the 45-car field, with Brandon Berryman and Terry Monroe winning the “B” Mains.
