The World of Outlaws have competed a total of 15 times at The Dirt Track @ Lowe’s Motor Speedway dating back to 2000. For each of the next 15 days leading up to the inaugural Outlaws World Finals, each of those 15 events will be recounted, culminating with the opening night of inaugural Outlaws World Finals on November 1 at The Dirt Track @ Lowe’s Motor Speedway. Today will focus on the seventh of those 15 events, which was contested on October 5, 2001.
Tim Shaffer, the 1999 World of Outlaws Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year started second and took the lead from pole sitter Shane Stewart on the opening lap and would go on to lead all 30 laps of the preliminary feature to pick up the $5,000 win.
Steve Kinser was second, with Donny Schatz third, Paul McMahan fifth, Craig Dollansky seventh, Joey Saldana eighth and Danny Lasoski ninth.
Current World of Outlaws drivers that also competed in the event included: Daryn Pittman, Terry McCarl, Chad Kemenah, Jason Sides, Jeremy Campbell and Jason Meyers.
The inaugural Outlaws World Finals featuring the World of Outlaws and the World of Outlaws Late Model Series are set for November 1-3, with the finale of the event set to be broadcast LIVE on SPEED on November 3 from 8-11 p. m. Eastern.
