Donny Schatz used his third consecutive Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series A-Feature win on Wednesday night at Sedalia’s State Fair Speedway to extend his lead in the championship standings to 44 markers over Jason Meyers. Schatz, the two-time defending series champion has won five of the last six events that the World of Outlaws have
contested. He remains the only driver that has finished in the Top-10 in each and every race this season.
Meyers picked up his series leading 15th Top-Five finish of 2008 at Sedalia, with a fourth-place performance. The native of Clovis, California began the night by setting fast time in time trials to earn five bonus points.
Craig Dollansky used a third-place finish on Wednesday to remain third in points, on the strength of 17 Top-10 finishes.
Joey Saldana is fourth in the standings after picking up his 15th Top-10 of the 2008 campaign last night.
Steve Kinser, the 20-time Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series champion is fifth in points, with Jac Haudenschild just five markers behind him.
Kerry Madsen used his 12th Top-10 finishes of the season at Sedalia to move to within 28 points of the Top-Five in the standings.
Chad Kemenah is eighth in points on the strength of eight Top-10 finishes.
Shane Stewart moved up a spot after Wednesday night’s event, as he is now ninth in the standings, with Terry McCarl just five markers behind him.
Also gaining a position in points after Wednesday night was Tim Shaffer, as well as Kraig Kinser after his fifth-place effort and Jason Sides.
The Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series returns to action Friday, June 13 at Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, South Dakota.
