The American Sprint Car Series made its debut appearance at South Mississippi Speedway before a standing room only crowd on Saturday night, but it was a familiar face in victory lane as Michael Dupuy scored a dominant win in the 25-lap ASCS Coastal Region feature event.
An ASCS National Tour runner-up in 2002, Dupuy completed a sweep of the night with the feature win after earlier topping both his heat race and the Pole Dash.
Dupuy’s only challenge came after a lap eleven stoppage for Jay Adams, whose mount burst into flames. Adams emerged unscathed. Back under way, Chris Sweeney challenged Dupuy for several laps each time the lead duo raced off turn four.
