Dustin Daggett Scores Second Consecutive Engine Pro ASCS Sprints

Merritt, Mich
Jun 10, 2007

Dustin Daggett scored his second consecutive Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt presented by Victor Reinz feature win Saturday at the Merritt Speedway. Daggett started on the outside of the front row and led every lap in route to his fourth feature win of the 2007 season.

“It feels good to be back here in victory lane again, especially two nights in a row! ” said Daggett in victory lane. “I need to thank my car owners Phil and Marty Mott, great people to allow me to do this with their equipment. ”

Kyle Patrick shared the front row with Daggett for the 25-lap feature event. Daggett jumped out into the lead at the start while Patrick kept pace. Only one lap was complete when Joe Bares spun in turn four to bring out the caution flag. Bares joined the back of the field.

Daggett pulled away again on the restart. Point leader Tim Norman started to make his charge from inside of row three and made it up to third before mechanical problems forced Norman pitside. Brett Mann, who was only four points behind Norman, raced up into the top five with his eyes on the point lead.

Patrick attempted to close on Daggett in heavy lapped traffic with a ten laps to go, but a spin by Ryan Ruhl in turn four ended Patrick’s opportunity to catch Daggett in lapped traffic. From there Daggett cruised to the victory over Patrick, Dain Naida, Steve Irwin, and Mann.

Naida, Daggett, Norman, and Patrick won the heat race events.
