Jeremy Sherman ratcheted up his winning percentage to. 875 with the American Sprint Car Series Canyon Region by topping Saturday night’s 30-lap Hank Arnold Memorial atop Manzanita Speedway’s ½-mile clay oval.
Sherman won the Pole Dash to earn the right to start up front and stayed there to collect his seventh win in eight events aboard Fred Bryan’s F&E Development/Impact Racing No. 77 Maxim, lapping up to sixth place along the way.
Charles Davis, Jr., and Bob Ream, Jr., had one last shot at Sherman following a late caution that set up a green-white-checkered run but were unable to capitalize. Davis settled for his fifth runner-up showing, with Ream taking the show position.
Sixteen-year-old Michael Colegrove was fourth, with Shon Deskins rounding out the top five. Justin Fisher was sixth, with Bernie Smith advancing from 14th to seventh. Mike Leslie charged from 22nd to eighth, with Bruce St. James and Chris Bonneau completing the top ten.
Deskins raced from eighth to win the evening’s opening heat race, with Brandon Lane and Ream also topping heat race action. Sherman came from fourth to win the Pole Dash.
