It was a little déjà vu as Kenny Adams of Malabar, FL blistered the field to pick up his second win at Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway in 360 sprint car competition. And just like his previous win the only thing to slow Adams was lapped traffic.
“Traffic was tough, but what a race track, these race fans are very lucky to have a place like this to see racing every week and I’m real happy to get my first ASCS win of the season, ” commented Kenny Adams in victory lane.
Adams took control of the race from the drop of the green flag with Justin Barger in close pursuit. By lap 10 the Adams and Barger where working lapped traffic. Adams went outside, Barger chose inside and barely missed taking the lead at the line by inches.
Adams then got back up on the wheel and pulled away from the rest of the field to easily pick up the victory. Rounding out the top five were Justin Barger, Johnny Bridges, Bryan Howland and T. J. Winegardner.
Austin Hubbard of Seaford, DE set the tone for Round one of the Victory Lap Late Model $25,000 Challenge presented by BB&T when he turned in a blistering lap of 18.557 seconds to break his own track record for the division. Hubbard then inverted the top eight with the pill draw putting Donnie Marshall Jr. and Roland Mann on the front row and leading the field to green.
