Kenny Adams Kicked Off The American Sprint Car Series Rebel Region’s two-night stand at East Bay Raceway Park by racing to his seventh overall ASCS feature win of the year in Friday night’s 25-lap main event.
Adams’ third ASCS Rebel Region triumph of the year was worth $2,000, including a $500 bonus from C&B Mushroom Farms after also winning his heat race.
Adams had his hands full with Greg Leonard all the way though, with Leonard slipping around Adams on a pair of occasions. Leonard’s first surge into the lead was negated by a caution flag. Leonard battled back around Adams on the 18th round, only to have Adams return the favor soon after.
Adams took the checkered flag aboard the Don Ott-powered B&W Enterprises No. 4a Shaw-chassis ahead of Leonard, with Matt Tiffany, Bryn Gohn and Adam Gordon rounding out the top five.
Josh Weller was sixth, with Brian Maddox, 16th-starter Dakotah Stephens, Robbie Smith and Matt Linder completing the top ten.
The ASCS Rebel Region wraps up the 2007 season Saturday night at East Bay Raceway Park, with a possible winner’s share of $2,500 including a $500 bonus from C&B Mushroom Farms if the feature winner also wins his heat or the “B” Main.
