Michael Dupuy recorded his fourth American Sprint Car Series regional feature win of the season by topping Friday night’s 25-lap ASCS Coastal vs. Gulf South Region main event at Motorama Speedway.
Starting from the front row outside, Dupuy gunned into the lead at the outset and led throughout to bolster his current ASCS Coastal Region points lead aboard David Kountz’ No. 12 Eagle.
Dupuy took the checkered flag comfortably ahead of Skip Wilson, with Lane Whittington racing from eleventh to take the show position. Brandon Berryman took over the ASCS Gulf South Region point lead by racing from 15th to finish fourth, while defending ASCS Gulf South champion Gary Watson rounded out the top five after starting 17th.
Polesitter Jimmy Brooks crossed the stripe in sixth, while Brad Best recovered from an opening lap tangle to snare seventh. Kelly Angelette was eighth, with Scottie McDonald and Jamie Will completing the top ten.
Entering the night atop the ASCS Gulf South Region point charts, Johnny Miller flipped on the fifth lap of the feature. Miller was uninjured, but done for the night.
Dupuy, Will, Miller and David Kountz topped heat race action for the 34-car field, with Berryman and Landon Brown winning the twin “B” Mains.
