Tony Veneziano, WoO Sprint Series PR Director High banks and high speeds are in store for the World of Outlaws in Second Annual Missouri High Banked Nationals at the blazing fast U. S. 36 Raceway in Osborn, Missouri on Friday, May 11. Last season in the series inaugural visit to the track, seven drivers turned sub-10 second laps, led by Paul McMahan’s new track record of 9.846 seconds at a blistering 120.658 miles per hour.
In the debut of the event, Jac Haudenschild used his trademark rim riding style to capture the win, which was the first World of Outlaws A-Feature win for his car owner Rick Wright, a native of California. The fan favorite from Wooster, Ohio won the first heat and followed that up with a win in the Crane Cams Dash to start on the pole in the 40-lap event, where he took the lead on the eighth circuit, and led the rest of the way. He enters the event this year, 10th in the championship standings on the strength of seven Top-10 finishes.
Donny Schatz the reigning World of Outlaws champion enters the event on Friday, May 11 atop the championships standings on the strength of four wins, and 15 Top-10 finishes in the first 17 events of the season. The native of Fargo, North Dakota was second fastest in time trials last season at U. S. 36 Raceway, before a mechanical failure ended his night in the A-Feature.
