On Wednesday morning, Perris Auto Speedway promoter Don Kazarian confirmed the swirling rumor that the world’s fastest Sprint Cars - the World of Outlaws - would be returning to The PAS for the first time in several years on Saturday, October 20th.
“A lot of fans have asked us to bring back the Outlaws. It is a done deal and we anxiously look forward to their return, †Kazarian said from behind his desk. â€Steve Kinser, Donny Schatz, Danny Lasoski, Joey Saldana and all of the top stars will be here. It is going to be a great show. â€
“Some fans may have forgotten how fast these guys are, †Kazarian said with a smile. “Danny Lasoski set the track record in 2002 when he turned an incredible 13.875! That is over two-seconds faster than the track record for any other series at The PAS. â€
Tickets for the long awaited return of the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series to the Southern California clay oval will go on sale on April 1st.
The USAC/CRA Sprint Car race originally scheduled for October 20th has been moved to Sunday night, October 7th during the Southern California Fair. Sprint Cars returned to the Southern California fair for the first time in nearly a decade in 2006 and drew a near capacity crowd. Fair and PAS officials expect another massive crowd for this year’s fair date.
