O’Reilly Auto Parts: Jerrod Hull Claims Third Straight Title at Quincy Raceways

Two-time O’Reilly Midwest All Star Series Champion Jerrod Hull took another step tonight towards scoring his third straight title by dominating at Quincy Raceways tonight.

Tonight Hull picked up his fifth win of the season stretching his points lead substantially over the nearest competitor. Earlier in the evening the track record was broken three times with the final record setting lap being ran by AJ Bruns.

Starting on the front row of the main event was Alex Shanks and Miranda Throckmorton. At the drop of the green flag it did not take Hull long to advance from his fourth place starting position. By Lap five he had jetted out into the lead and was a target for the rest of the field for the remaining laps in the event.

The first part of the race was run under the Green Flag as Hull quickly got into lapped traffic and began skillfully working through it. The first stop in race action was for Jimmy Hurley who came to a stop on the track and could not get restarted; thus ending his evening.

On the restart Hull would pick up where he left off quickly rocketing off into the lead. The second stop in race action would happen on Lap 14 when two separate incidents happened on the track simultaneously. Tiffany Wyzard was battling with Jeremy Standridge when the two touched sending Wyzard over the banking. While this was going on AJ Bruns came to a stop on the track with mechanical difficulties.

The final caution flag of the night would fly on Lap 23 when Terry Bab pushed the cushion and came to a stop on course. When race action resumed Jim Moughan who had won earlier in the season at Quincy, had worked his way up from his tenth place starting position and was challenging Hull for the lead.

Over the final laps of the race a heated battle between Moughan and Hull ensued, but with the Checkered Flag looming in the distance it would be Hull picking up with win in front of Moughan. Kody Kinser, Alex Shanks and Ben Waggoner would round out the top-five.
