Paul McMahan On The Team’s Hard-Fought Victory At Cedar Lake Speedway:
“Coming into the week having won Sunday night at Cedar Lake, we started off at Huset’s thinking everything was fine. That wasn’t the case. As soon as we went out for warm-ups the engine wouldn’t fire. The guys changed the motor for qualifying and we set quick time but the water pump went bad during the run. That kind of set the tone for the night as we never really got a handle on it. In the dash, they’d just reworked the track and we were trying some different things. In the feature, we were a little tight in the beginning and when I went to pass another car they hit my front end and I ended up getting turned over. The car was pretty beat up but the guys put a new wing on and fixed the front end to get us back out there to get as many points as possible. ”
“At I-55, we started off gangbusters again, blowing a power steering line in hot laps. We didn’t get any practice but we were able to qualify fifth quick for a good start to the night. We tried some things in the dash that just didn’t work. We tried to hook-up to the bottom of the track but it wasn’t there. In the A-main, I fell back a bit on the start but in the last 12 laps or so I went to the bottom and was able to move forward quite a bit. Changing my line really helped and we finished in the top-10 with the Bass Pro Shops car. ”
