Quote from Ricky Stenhouse, Jr., driver of the No. 21 TSR/Chevrolet/Maxim
This Thursday’s USAC Sprint race at Gas City will be your first-ever trip to the Indiana bullring. Are you looking forward to it?
“I’m really excited about Thursday’s race. I’ve heard so much about Gas City and seen a couple of features there and it’s a track that I think will be a lot of fun. Having watched some of the USAC and local drivers compete there has been a real asset. I especially paid attention to Jon Stanborough. Watching how he passes cars and drives the corners has been a big help. Levi’s (Jones, teammate) also helped me prepare. He’s given me some tips about how the track can change and where to pass. I love dirt-track racing and this week’s race at Gas City is going to be a good one. ”
With one event at ORP in the books, will you be more comfortable racing there in this Saturday’s doubleheader?
“I really think it will be a much better event for us. We’ve tested in both the sprint and the midgets at ORP, so we’re going to really depend on what we learned in those tests to help us with our starting set-ups and how we progress through the event. Coming off a week like last week where we swept all three features, there’s nothing more we’d like to do than sweep both events on Saturday. It’s been a lot of fun running up front and we’re hoping to put Chevrolet and Bass Pro Shops back in victory lane again this weekend. ”
