Ridge, Crockett Winners For ASCS Races at Electric City

Thirty Sprint drivers ranging in age from 15 to 62 competed last Friday and Saturday nights at Electric City Speedway in the American Sprint Car Series races.

Sixteen of the racers were from Montana with previous racing experience on the Speedway track and proved their expertise in the heat races on Saturday night winning all four of the heat races. Both nights required a B Feature to eliminate all but the 20 racers who made the A Main Feature.

On Friday night, Jared Ridge started on the outside pole and took the early lead which he held through two restarts with countless racers a heartbeat behind him ready to take the lead away. Ridge stayed on the bottom and took the win in the A Main for his first career win. Steven Tiner of Visalia, Calif., took second with Jason Solwold claiming third.

On Saturday night, Oregon driver Roger Crockett made a pass late in the race to take the win in the A Main with just four laps left in the race. Crockett started ninth but drove his Sprint to the top five early in the race.

This weekend is slotted for another two-day event at Electric City Speedway. The Fireball Special will host all classes both Friday and Saturday nights. Racing starts at 7 p.m.
