Second Place Finish at Granby - Bad Luck at Drummond

Saturday night, after a solid performance at Granby the night before, Alain Bergeron was confident to have a good race at Drummond, Saturday, while he was ninth on the A-Main starting grid. As early as the first lap, Russ Bennett’s Sprint started a series of flips in turn #3 and several cars that followed were taken in the accident. Bergeron that just took the high grove to pass another car came very close to avoid the accident but the right rear wheel touched another car and the evening was done for the Saint-Pie QC driver, the rear suspension being damaged.
Alain Bergeron had begun the evening finishing second in his heat and fifth in the DASH race. The team worked hard and the car should be ready for tonight race at Cornwall tonight (Sunday).
Granby – June 15, 2007… Friday night, it was the first visit of the ESS Sprints in Quebec in 2007 and Alain Bergeron was second on the starting grid of the A-Main. Bergeron did a great job finishing second in this A-Main at Granby. The driver of Saint-Pie QC had won his heat race earlier in the evening.

In 2007, Alain Bergeron is in his 8th season with the very competitive series, the Empire Super Sprints ( ESS).
In 2006, the Saint-Pie native was crowned the 2006 ESS tour champion after a very good 2005 year as he finished in fifth place in the point standing and he had been champion of the ‘Gater Racing News Lap Leader Award’
Bergeron was the first Canadian to win a Sprint Car race with
the ESS in 2000. Sprint Cars are one of the most popular type of racing in the United Sates and at the end of the 2001 season, in his second year driving a Sprint Car, he had the most wins of any driver in the series with 3.
Racing with the ESS since only 6 years, Alain Bergeron is already in 18th position in the all-time winners list of the series. Throughout this season, we will inform you of his results and
various news from Team Bergeron, while Alain will be on the road competing to the best of his abilities. Alain Bergeron’s hometown is Saint-Pie-de-Bagot and he is a former champion in Mini-Sprint and ATV, both on dirt and ice surfaces.
