For being all of 12 years old, Dillon Spreen certainly gets a lot of “seat time” in a race car. And – oh yeah – he’s the returning Lonestar Legacys champion in Texas.

Spreen – a student at Boerne Middle School South – finished first, third and second this past weekend in his #81 South Bay/Spreen Racing Engines Monte Carlo at the Tex-Oma Legacys Road Race Series, which raced at Texas World Speedway in College Station (TX).

The Tex-Oma Legacys Road Race Series featured Legacys cars from San Antonio, Houston and Dallas; the Houston and San Antonio cars mostly run circle tracks while the Dallas drivers mostly run road coarses. The Texas World Speedway course was a road course; it ran clockwise for all three races. The Legacys ran the course with another group of cars – Mazda RX-7s – which, although each series ran for its own standings, they still ran together out on the track.
