Despite two delays due to cold and wet weather, all systems are on go for this Saturday night s April 14 season opener at Federated Auto Parts Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, OH when the 42nd season gets underway with not only the Super Late Models, Modifieds, Pure Stocks & Mini Stocks on the card but also the much anticipated return of full blown Sprint Cars to the weekly racing program.
“I am very excited to see the sprints return, ” stated Chuck Griffith, General Manager of the popular 3/8 mile banked dirt oval. “Federated Auto Parts Wayne County Speedway has a lot of history in open wheel racing and I always have thought it was a mistake when Sprint Car racing was halted. The track has always been blessed with a great mixture of various ages of fans. Many times through the years I have had fans say to me. When are you bringing the sprints back? ”
”In a very large survey conducted at the end of the 2006 season, in excess of 75% of the fans asked that we run Sprint Cars. ”
