Trevor Green Joins ABC Realestate Racing For Krikke Boys Shootout

1997 Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic winner, Trevor Green, will take control of the driving seat for Victoria’s ABC Realestate Racing Team – usually occupied by Simon Amato - for next month’s (March 3 and 4) Krikke Boys Shootout at Western Australia’s Bunbury City Speedway.

Green, who finished fourth at the Australian Championship last weekend and is the current Parramatta City Raceway track championship leader, is a major shot in the arm for not only the Krikke Boys Shootout, but also ABC Realestate Racing.

Simon Amato said this is a huge moment for his team with one of Australia’s leading drivers to be behind the wheel.

“The Krikke Boys Shootout event means a lot to Trevor and we are just thrilled to be able to provide a car for him. He is a leading driver here in Australia and he also has American experience.

“Originally I was going to race the Krikke Boys, but when the opportunity came up to put Trevor in the seat, you aren’t going to knock that back, as he could send the car to the front.

“I spoke to Trevor on the phone and he believes he can win. He said he is in great form at the moment and is on top of his game.

“With Trevor driving the car, it’s going to give our team and sponsors some great exposure as I’m sure he can get the car to the front, ” Amato said.

The deal for Green to race the Amato Brothers car came thanks largely to Simon’s partner Kate Searle and her mother Mandy.

Kate explains: “The deal came through ma (Mandy). She and Trevor talked a bit recently and from there it has escalated. Ma is driving the truck over the Nullarbor and even Trevor is that keen to get behind the wheel that he has offered to help drive the gear over. ”

After the Krikke Boys Shootout two-night event, Amato will return to driving duties for the Nanovich Kings of Wings at Perth Motorplex on March 9 and 10.

“We would of loved for Trevor to drive the car in the Kings of Wings, but he has to return to PCR for the Track Championship, which he is leading.

“I will take the reigns of the car this weekend in Adelaide and at Perth, where I’m looking forward to using what I have learnt from Stephen Bell (who recently drove the v86) and what Trevor shows me at Bunbury, ” said Amato.

Not only will the ABC Realestate Sprintcar be in action in Western Australia, but also the ‘baby baby car’ – Kate Searle’s Formula 500 – will be racing on both nights of the Krikke Boys and Kings of Wings events.
