USAC’s Popular “Wednesday Night Thunder” Series Moves to Thursday



USAC’s popular “Wednesday Night Thunder” Series, presented by the Richard Petty Driving Experience, moves to Thursday night this week to accommodate the Wednesday night Banjo 100 Glen Niebel Classic USAC events at the Anderson (Ind. ) Speedway. Thursday’s races at the Mount Lawn Speedway in New Castle, Ind. conclude with 30-lap Regional, Indiana Ford Focus and Kenyon Midget main events.

Travis Young of Franklin, Ind. finished fourth last Wednesday night and leads the Regional Midgets back to Mount Lawn. Bryan Clauson of Noblesville, Ind. won last Wednesday, passing Brent Beauchamp on lap 25 and leading the rest of the way in his Bungee North America/Anderson’s Grain Beast/Armstrong. Beauchamp, James Robertson, Young and Alex Pruett trailed at the checkered flag.

Parish, of Knightstown, Ind., continues to lead the Indiana Ford Focus standings after winning last Wednesday’s 30-lapper at Mount Lawn. Craig Haack led lap one and Chett Gehrke led the next two but Parish paced the last 27 laps in his Executive Homes/Robertson Drywall Beast. Gehrke was second ahead of Tyler Irwin, Eric Fehrman and Alison MacLeod.

Kyle Hamilton of Danville, Ind. recorded a fourth consecutive Kenyon Midget feature win in last Wednesday’s Mount Lawn 30-lapper. Jeff Wimmenauer led 15 laps, but the last 15 went to Hamilton and his Curtis Motor Sales/WKLU Radio Yamaha. Tyler Cottongim, Megan Wood, Brett Burdette and Blake Fitzpatrick followed Hamilton to the finish line.
