After a testing 12-round Eureka Garages and Sheds Super Sprintcar Series, ‘The Flying Dutchman’ Mike Van Bremen has come away with a respectable second position in the overall points of the Victorian domestic Sprintcar Racing Association Series.
The final round of the Eureka Garages and Sheds Series was held on Saturday night (March 24) at Warrnambool’s Sungold Stadium-Premier Speedway and although it was impossible for Van Bremen to win the series, he was keen to secure the next best – second.
Fresh from a feature race win in the previous round at Gippsland’s Nyora Speedbowl, Van Bremen was placed in second on points ahead of third placed Matthew Reed by 201 points.
By the end of Saturday night, Van Bremen held off Reed by just 67 points after an unlucky A-Main. “It’s been an up and down year for me, the first half of the season was nothing special, we had some trouble dialling into the Maxim Chassis after using a Foster for a decade, ” said Van Bremen.
