An off-season surface grinding at Five Flags Speedway has increased the lap speed at races this season.
But it may really get noticed Friday night, when the Winged Sprint Cars return to the race track. The Tampa Bay Area Racing Association Sprinters have not been at Five Flags since 2002. The organization has transformed into one of the most competitive Sprint Car circuits in the nation.
Defending series champion Troy Decaire enters the weekend as the points leader. In second place, Dave Steele is gathering all the attention, after winning “King of the Wings” at Winchester Speedway and the “Little 500” at Anderson, Ind.
