World of Outlaws: After Ironman 55 Weekend Championship Standings Tighten

The World of Outlaws championship standings remain extremely close following the Ironman 55 Weekend at I-55 Raceway, which culminated on Saturday night with the Second Annual Ironman 55, the longest, most grueling event of the season for the World of Outlaws. Joey Saldana, Steve Kinser and Jason Meyers are separated by just 46 points, with Saldana leading Kinser by a mere nine markers with Meyers third, only 37 points behind Kinser who is second and 46 behind Saldana.

Saldana charged from 19th to seventh in the opener of the Ironman and was fifth in the finale to earn his 29th Top-Five finish of the season. He continues to lead the series in wins with 10 and is also on top of the leader board in laps led as he battles for his first World of Outlaws title.

Kinser finished fourth on Friday night and sixth on Saturday night to add to his series leading total of Top-Five and Top-10 finishes. The 20-time series champion has 44 Top-10 runs with 31 of those being Top-Five performances as he seeks his record 21st title.

Meyers finished sixth in the opener at I-55 Raceway and led 27 laps en route to the $20,000 win in the finale, which was his eighth win of the season, which is second only to Saldana. The California native has 38 Top-10 finishes on the year with 25 Top-Fives as he chases his first series title.
