Buescher Back In The Saddle With Win-Tron Racing's No. 32 Win Tron Racing

DUQUOIN, Illinois—It’s been a little over a year since James Buescher has played in the dirt in the ARCA RE/MAX Series. But, he won’t have to watch much longer as Buescher has been tapped to drive the No. 32 Win-Tron Racing entry at the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds for the traditional Labor Day Southern Illinois 100.

Buescher will make his fourth start of the 2008 ARCA RE/MAX Series season, while also eyeing a return to top-10 status. In his most recent ARCA start at Nashville Superspeedway, Buescher showed his stock car strength by qualifying an impressive third and rebounded from early race misfortune only to be collected in a late-race incident while running in the top-10. He recovered to mount a season best 17th place finish.

Asphalt racing is done for now with the NASCAR Nationwide Series freshman ready to conquer the dirt for the second time in his career.

“Dirt racing is a lot of fun,” said Buescher, a native of Plano, Texas. “As a driver the dirt racing throws some different techniques your way, but that’s good. I’m looking forward to getting dirty and ready for my first trip to DuQuoin.”

The avid racecar driver made one of his seven ARCA RE/MAX Series starts last year on the one-mile dirt of the Illinois State Fairgrounds and it was no surprise that Buescher was a contender. After practicing 19th, Buescher started eighth and maintained a strong spot in the top-10 during the 100-lap feature to net a seventh place finish, one of his six top-10 finishes last year.

“Springfield was enjoyable,” continued Buescher, who has spent the 2008 season competing in the ARCA RE/MAX Series, NASCAR Camping World Series, NASCAR Nationwide Series and USAR Hooter Pro Cup Series. “I wasn’t really sure what to expect, but it was definitely a great learning experience. I now know what to expect in my second trip to the dirt, so I think we’ll be aiming a little higher Monday afternoon.”

Still riding high on his impressive third place finish in his most recent USAR start at Bristol Motor Speedway, Buescher is anxious to visit a place that has eluded him in 2008, victory lane.

“It would be nice to get back to victory lane,” sounded Buescher, who continues to hold the record for the youngest winner in ARCA RE/MAX Series history at USA International Speedway last March. “We can do it at DuQuoin. It’s a real short race, so if we play our cards right, we’ll be at the right place at the right time and we can return to victory lane.”

Win-Tron Racing General Manager Nate Thiesse commented, “We’re glad to have James back at the helm. We know when James buckles in he goes out and gives nothing less than 150 percent. We’re excited to have him back on the dirt and hope we can continue our impressive stats together Monday afternoon.”

Buescher is scheduled to be behind the wheel of the No. 32 entry for at least four more events this year including DuQuoin State Fairgrounds, Chicagoland Speedway, New Jersey Motorsports Park and Talladega Superspeedway.

Entering DuQuoin, Win-Tron Racing sits 15th in the ARCA RE/MAX Series owner’s standings after 15 races. 65 credits separate car owner Kevin Cywinski from the 14th position held by Andy Hillenburg (No. 11). The team maintained their position from their last outing at the Illinois State Fairgrounds where Bradley Riethmeyer recorded an 11th place finish.

Mercedes Homes and Win-Tron Racing Driver Development will serve as the marketing partners for Monday’s event.
