With the 2008 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season fast approaching, the next group of rookies are ready to take to the track, which leads me to the question… Who will be next to take the sport by storm?

The class of rookies in 2008 will include Jacques Villeneuve, Patrick Carpentier, Sam Hornish Jr., Dario Franchitti and Regan Smith.

Jacuques Villeneuve will race for Bill Davis Racings (BDR) third team next year.

Patrick Carpentier will be behind the wheel of the No. 10 Dodge Fielded by Gillett Evernham Motorsports (GEM).

Sam Hornish Jr. will have a ride in the newly reformed No. 77 car owned by Roger Penske.

Dario Franchitti takes over the No. 40 Dodge fielded by Chip Ganassi next year. Juan Pablo Montoya who was a rookie in 2007 had decent success in his rookie season.
