Bob Nardelli has been named Grand Marshal for the Dodge Dealers 400 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race on Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007 at Dover International Speedway. Nardelli, chairman and CEO of Chrysler LLC, will command the 43 drivers to fire their engines and prepare to take to the high-banked Speedway.
Nardelli will join actor R. Lee Ermey in the pre-race festivities. Ermey, Honorary Starter for the Dodge Dealers 400, is best known for his role as Sgt. Hartman in the military film “Full Metal Jacket. ” He is currently the celebrity spokesperson for GLOCK “Safe Action” Pistols and can be seen each week on his show “Mail Call” on The History Channel.
Nardelli replaces actor David Spade who was previously announced as Grand Marshal of the race. Spade has cancelled his appearence due to a change in the production schedule for his television show.
The “Chase” returns to Dover International Speedway on Sept. 23 for the Dodge Dealers 400 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race. Tickets are still available for the entire Sept. 21-23 race weekend and can be purchased by calling 800-441-RACE.
