According to some near the talks, Bud will sign as a primary sponsor for the No. 9 Dodge driven by Kasey Kahne at Evernham within weeks. The biggest hurdle seems to have been the sponsor’s hesitation to commit due to the lack of performance of the Evernham teams this year.
However the new partnership with Gillett and the renewed optimism it brings Anheuser-Busch is ready to commit and move forward.

The significant influx of cash and sports marketing know-how from Gillett could provide a boon to the struggling three-car Dodge-powered Nextel Cup operation. It also will allow Evernham to step back into the role he knows best: making cars go fast.

George N. Gillett Jr. is the owner of the Montreal Canadiens and a co-owner of the Liverpool Football Club in the English Premier League.
