The NASCAR star wasn’t prepared for the nationally-televised greeting he received Sunday at Watkins Glen International, however.
As the Nextel Cup road course race was delayed for a red-flag period, a shirtless man jumped over a fence and ran over to Kenseth’s No. 17 Ford.

Matt Kenseth usually doesn’t mind when a fan asks him for an autograph, but the driver of the No. 17 DeWalt Ford had a rather unusual request Sunday.
It happened during a stop in the Centurion Boats at the Glen with 15 laps remaining. A shirtless man climbed over the spectator fence and hopped the guardrail and approached Kenseth’s parked car on the straight between Turns 9 and 10. He leaned into the right side of the Ford and asked him if he would autograph his ball cap. StarGazetteNews
Very easy access, one fan proved on Sunday afternoon when he simply walked onto the track for an autograph.
During a late-race, red-flag period, a man ran up to Matt Kenseth’s No. 17 Ford, reached through the passenger window and asked the driver to sign his hat.
“He just said, ‘Will you sign this?’” Kenseth was heard saying to his crew over the driver radio. “I’m like, ‘I’m a little busy right now.’” Kevin Oklobzija

During a red-flag period late in the race, the cars were parked on the track when a shirtless man darted up to Matt Kenseth’s Ford. This guy, who embodied every bad stereotype of the NASCAR fan, then ducked his head into Kenseth’s car and asked for—you guessed it—an autograph. So what did Kenseth do? SportsIllustrated
About that time the track guards made their appearance and the fan hip hopped back up the hill of grass that he had come down moments ago. Matt keyed his radio and filled his team in on what had happened. They all laughed.
One of the fellows on the crew joked to Matt that it was a good thing he didn’t sign it, because NASCAR would have got him for working outside the pit box…. more laughter ensued. Amy Hair, Cup Scene Daily
