The real shame in Yeley’s signing with HOF is that Tony Raines is out of the seat.
Raines has always done the best he could in underfunded equipment at every stop, and he’s taken it on the chin for 2 years now to get HOF up and running, even when they replaced him at the start of 2006 so Terry Labonte could get the new team in the first several races of that season. JJ Yeley, often the overlooked driver at Joe Gibbs Racing, will have center stage to himself next season.
Yeley signed a three-year contract Tuesday with Hall of Fame Racing, a single-car team owned primarily by two Diamondbacks executives - General Partner Jeff Moorad Executive Vice President Tom Garfinkel - and Tom Davin, the CEO of Panda Express.

Yeley was the odd-man out when Joe Gibbs Racing signed Kyle Busch in mid- August. He is the son of seven-time Arizona Midget Racing Association and two- time World of Outlaws midget champion “Cactus” Jack Yeley. In 2003 he won 24 consecutive USAC races breaking the mark of A.J. Foyt.
The Phoenix, AZ native is currently 20th in points with just one top-10. He has been eliminated from this year’s Chase for the Nextel Cup,” but is scheduled to finish out the season in the No.18 Chevrolet. TheSportsNetwork
