Roush Fenway Racing driver Jamie McMurray has more than one reason to look forward to his visit to California Speedway for this weekend’s Auto Club 500. With seven starts at the two-mile speedway, McMurray has posted five top-10 finishes, along with three top-five finishes. Along with a stellar track record at California Speedway, McMurray will also have the Jamie McMurray Foundation logo featured on his No. 26 Crown Royal Ford Fusion.
“I’m very passionate about the Jamie McMurray Foundation and Autism Awareness, “ said McMurray. “I created the foundation just over a year ago with the help of my Mom and sister and it’s really amazing to see how far we have come with this endeavor. “
The Jamie McMurray Foundation (JMF) was formed in May 2006 to promote awareness of, and raise funding for, research, education, and support for individuals and families afflicted with autism. The JMF is dedicated to bringing the financial backing and support of the NASCAR community, together with the passion and commitment of the autism community, to promote better understanding of this challenging disability.
“It makes me so proud to see Crown Royal giving space on the No. 26 car to allow me to promote my foundation. They have been such a supportive partner over the last year and I’m very happy to see some of the events surrounding the foundation come together so well, “ said McMurray.
“It’s important to Crown Royal and Diageo to support Jamie and the Jamie McMurray Foundation, “ said Jim Lorenz, Senior Brand Manager, Crown Royal. “Over the years, Jamie has worked really hard to help promote Autism Awareness, and his foundation is a great starting point. Not only do we stand behind Jamie at the track, but also outside of racing and this is just one way Crown Royal can contribute to Jamie’s charitable causes. “
California Speedway has been good to McMurray over the years. McMurray boasts a 99.9% completed laps percentage at the two-mile speedway located in Fontana, Calif., along with an average finishing position of 8.9. McMurray and the No. 26 Crown Royal team are preparing for another good run at California Speedway on Sunday. The action begins at 3:00 p. m. on FOX.
