McMurray on racing at Texas Motor Speedway:
“Texas is a place that I have run really well at in the past and hopefully we can continue that trend this weekend. It’s a track that I can’t seem to get around for qualifying, but a track that I seem to race really well at each time we visit there. This weekend is a pretty big weekend for Crown Royal. We are running the No. 26 Crown Royal Special Reserve Ford Fusion. It’s a really good-looking race car that I’m really excited about racing this weekend. Also, the Jamie McMurray Foundation is presenting a check to a local Texas charity that raises money for Autism Awareness. Overall it should be a pretty good weekend for the No. 26 Crown Royal team.
“Last weekend at Atlanta was really tough for all the guys on the No. 26 team. We didn’t have the best car early into the race, but Larry (Carter) and all the guys worked hard throughout the afternoon to give us a car that would be a contender at the end. We had a top-five car going into the last lap – it’s a shame we were caught up in that accident. Needless to say, I’m eager to get back on the track at Texas. ”
Crew Chief Larry Carter on racing at Texas Motor Speedway:
“After our run at Atlanta last weekend, I think all the guys are ready to get back on the track. We had a really good car last weekend that we worked on throughout the race and would have been a contender there at the end had we not been taken out with one lap to go. It was a tough day for all the guys because we had such good pit stops all day and the car was getting better as the afternoon went on. This weekend, we are taking the same car that we ran well with at Kansas. We fought some handling problems in that Kansas race, but I think we have learned quite a bit the last few weeks at Charlotte and Atlanta that we should have a pretty good run in our No. 26 Crown Royal Special Reserve Ford Fusion. ”
